CIGAR REVIEW: Surrogates Animal Cracker
by Finck Cigars | 0 Comments
Wrapper : Ecuadorian Habano
The Animal Cracker is the 6x60 selection by the Surrogates line of L'Atlier Imports. Not my size of preference but this cigar has a great appearance. It has a dark seamless wrapper and appears to have a capped pigtail. Upon lighting it and smoking into the first third of the stick I'm getting a nice smooth smoke on the palate and through the retrohale. I'm having no issues with the burn, seems to be burning evenly. Also getting notes of dried fruit and leather. Starting off I'd say a medium to full bodied cigar.
Into the halfway mark I'm still getting notes of dried fruit, some spice and a little more leather. I had to fix the burn a couple times but nothing major or affecting the draw at all. This cigar has definitely gained more body and I'd categorize it more of a fuller bodied cigar.
Over all this is a great full bodied smoke with a very easy draw. I would recommend this cigar for people that like a full flavored cigar with a small hint of spice and like a bigger ring gauge. As I said, I prefer a smaller cigar but the full flavor of this cigar really got my attention. If you're a fan of the Oliva V and want to try something in the boutique selection, this is it.
